{"id":13446,"date":"2021-08-04T09:00:47","date_gmt":"2021-08-04T08:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.taipawb.org\/?post_type=news&amp;p=13446"},"modified":"2021-08-04T09:00:47","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T08:00:47","slug":"capitalproject","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.taipawb.org\/cy\/news\/2021\/capitalproject\/","title":{"rendered":"Community collaboration: CAPITAL report published"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-12444 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.taipawb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Untitled-design-1-600x600.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"232\" height=\"232\" \/><strong>Public Health Wales and Tai Pawb are pleased to announce the publication of the report from the CAPITAL project, which ran from 2019-2021 with support from the Health Foundation. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The project brought together two distinct groups of people in the Morriston area of Swansea: people seeking sanctuary and social housing tenants. Through facilitating asset-based workshops, a group was created which decided to highlight the activities in their local area and share their skills through creating a regular newsletter. This act of collaboration and building new friendships resulted in participants scoring more highly on a number of tools used to measure integration and levels of self-efficacy, confidence and resilience. These factors combined account for around 10% of the health inequalities that are experienced by different groups (full stats and references in the report).<\/p>\n<p>As well as the evaluation report, the project created a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.taipawb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Capital-Project-Roadmap-to-Inclusive-Coproduction-Eng-final2.pdf\">\u2018<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Roadmap to Co-production<\/strong><\/span>\u2019<\/a> which we are confident will be of use to others adopting this approach.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key learning points:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Use an asset-based approach<\/li>\n<li>Go into community work open minded- encouraging the group to take ownership and find their own solutions<\/li>\n<li>Flexibility is required to be inclusive- for example, when the COVID-19 pandemic began, group members were issued with data packs to allow them to continue to participate remotely<\/li>\n<li>When starting new initiatives, consider sustainability at the outset<\/li>\n<li>Having a diverse range of people involved really helps to find creative solutions<\/li>\n<li>Keeping in touch digitally ( e.g. What\u2019s App), keeps people connected between meetings and helps people to see themselves as part of a group<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can watch a recording of presentation that the team made earlier in 2021 <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.publichealthnetwork.cymru\/en\/get-involved\/past-event\/covid-19-webinar-series\/phncwebinar240221\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">here<\/span><\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.taipawb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Morriston-Co-production-Report-English-final-2.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>CAPITAL Report: English<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.taipawb.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/Morriston-Co-production-Report-Welsh-final.pdf\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Adroddiad CAPITAL: Cymraeg\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Public Health Wales and Tai Pawb are pleased to announce the publication of the report from the CAPITAL project, which ran from 2019-2021 with support from the Health Foundation.
