A 60‑minute introductory session exploring neurodiversity, key terminology and common myths, and supporting greater understanding of neurodivergent experiences, strengths and barriers in workplace and service settings.

Course objectives

This 60‑minute session provides an accessible introduction to neurodiversity and is designed to support understanding, awareness and inclusive practice.

Participants are introduced to key concepts and terminology, including neurodiversity, neurodivergent and neurotypical, and explore common neurodivergent profiles such as autism, ADHD and dyslexia. The session also addresses common myths and misconceptions, supporting a more accurate and balanced understanding of neurodivergent experiences.
The session encourages participants to consider both the strengths neurodivergent people can bring to workplaces and organisations, and the challenges or barriers they may encounter. Participants are supported to reflect on how environments, systems and attitudes can either support or undermine inclusion and equity.
