The new Welsh Government have promised to introduce the Right To Adequate housing, so it is time to have a proper conversation of what this means in practice for housing and equalities.
Since 2018, alongside our partners at CIH Cymru and Shelter Cymru, we have been campaigning for the introduction of The Right To Adequate Housing. The new Welsh Government have promised to introduce the Right To Adequate housing, so it is time to have a proper conversation of what this means in practice for housing and equalities.

Join us on Thursday 1st October to hear from our excellent group of speakers. A colleague from one of the Back The Bill organisations will get us started, setting the scene for what the Right To Adequate Housing is and what progress has been made for its introduction since the election. Secondly, we will have Sam Freeman from The Shift, a global organization working at the intersection of housing, finance, and climate through a human rights lens. Sam will speak about international examples of the Right To Adequate Housing and share lessons we can learn from in Wales, with a special focus on ow the Right helps marginalised groups exercise their housing rights. Paula Kennedy, the CEO of Hedyn will then talk about what she sees the introduction of the Right To Adequate Housing brings to Wales and how housing associations can benefit. We will finish the session with a Q&A with our speakers.
