Equality Impact Assessment Training
This is an introductory training session for staff members who are about to carry out their first impact assessment. It may also be useful for staff looking to refresh their knowledge of the process.
Equality Impact Assessments are a process which allows organisations to consider relevant evidence in order to understand the likely or actual effect of policies, practices and decisions on protected groups.
This training session will explain what an equality impact assessment is, why they are useful and the different stages involved. The session will involve taster activities on different stages of the process using your own policies. This session has been specifically tailored for the housing sector.
This is a full day course delivered online via Zoom to up to 15 delegates, however, in order to reduce the effects of ‘Zoom fatigue’ we are providing the option of splitting the course over two half days.
This would cover:
- Describing what an equality impact assessment is, why we do them and the different stages involved
- Identify evidence to inform the assessment
- Identify potential impact on protected groups and mitigating actions
- Carry out an Equality Impact Assessment fully supported by the trainer
Both days will include lots of interactive workshops and activities as well as group discussion to make the learning environment as engaging as possible
This course is aimed at staff, board members and tenants involved with an organisations equality impact assessment process.
1 day, can be split over 2 half days if being delivered online
