Cartrefi Conwy Earns QED Award for Equality and Diversity

We’re delighted to share that Cartrefi Conwy has been awarded our QED (Quality in Equality and Diversity) Award, becoming only the second housing association in North Wales to receive the accreditation.
Our QED Award recognises organisations that are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) in everything they do – from how they support tenants to how they create an inclusive culture for colleagues. For Cartrefi Conwy, it’s a proud moment that highlights the positive work already happening and sets the stage for even more progress.
Adrian Johnson, CEO of Cartrefi Conwy said:
“We are really proud to have received this award, it validates our on-going commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in everything we do.
Cartrefi Conwy has worked closely with Tai Pawb to review its approach to EDI. Colleagues from across the organisation took part in conversations, surveys and workshops to share their views, as well as stakeholders to help shape the future. This feedback was key to identifying strengths and areas for development. A dedicated QED project team was also formed, bringing together colleagues from different departments and roles to lead the work.”
Tai Pawb CEO Alicja Zalesinska, said:
“Huge congratulations/llongyfarchiadau are due to Cartrefi Conwy on achieving the QED Award. It’s great to see another North Wales organisation leading the way in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Cartrefi Conwy has impressed us with their leadership and organisational culture, while their work on procurement following new legislation will drive inclusive practice. This award will serve as a catalyst for further progress over the next three years and beyond, and we are looking forward to supporting them on their journey.”
What does this mean for Cartrefi Conwy?
- Better support for tenants – by making sure services are inclusive and meet the needs of everyone in the community.
- An inclusive culture – where all staff feel respected, valued and able to be themselves.
- A long-term commitment to improvement – with clear plans in place to keep learning and growing.
Kathryn Roberts, Director of People and Culture at Cartrefi Conwy, said:
“We’re delighted to receive the QED Award. It reflects the values we live by every day and the ongoing commitment of our teams to make Cartrefi Conwy a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone. This is a great achievement – but it’s also just the beginning of a longer journey. We’re excited to keep building on this work together.”
Cartrefi Conwy will continue working with colleagues, tenants and partners to make equality and diversity a core part of everything it does.
Llongyfarchiadau Cartrefi Conwy!
