Equality in housing matters because home is where everything starts. Poor housing reduces life chances. We work to enable all people to have equal chances by working with organisations to reduce prejudice, disadvantage and poverty related to housing.

Support for Organisations

We support organisations to embed equality into their practices, policies, cultures and thinking. Our expert team helps organisations make sure that they give all their tenants, service users and staff equal chances and that all people are treated with respect, dignity and compassion. Our organisational support services include tailored consultancy, training and member helpline. We also enable our members and others to connect, learn from each other and promote what they do via member led networks, events and our valued Good Practice Briefings. We offer practical resources, tools and solutions. We support all housing, equality and other related organisations but our membership offers substantial discounts and member only services.

Influencing

We work with decision makers to make sure equality is integral to housing policy in Wales. We want to ensure that housing laws, policies and decisions make a positive impact on the lives of diverse people in Wales and do not lead to discrimination and disadvantage. We respond to consultations, comment on current issues and influence stakeholders on other key topics.

Awareness

We raise awareness of housing and wider inequality issues facing people with protected characteristics. We want providers, politicians, tenants and others to be aware of the problems people from protected groups face so that we can work together on finding solutions. We do this through campaigns, research and publications and keeping you up to date via our blog and Equality and Housing Updates.
