Equality and Diversity Refresher

Our equality and diversity refresher course has been designed as a follow-on course from our popular equality and diversity awareness course. The course is designed to refresh learners on areas they looked at on the previous course, as well as to see how this knowledge applies to common situations in the housing sector.

This is achieved through the exploration of key areas related to equality in housing: reasonable adjustments, hate crime, listening to diverse groups and using data to improve services. However, other areas may be covered instead to ensure relevance to the staff group in question.

Objectives - The learner will be able to:

Apply their knowledge of the Equality Act to a variety of situations

Explain what a reasonable adjustment for a disabled person is

Assess the role of housing providers in preventing and tackling hate crime

Describe methods of engagement relevant to different diverse groups

Explain the role of customer profiling and equality monitoring data in improving services.

Target audience

This course is suitable for all staff members, but designed for those who have already completed our Equality and Diversity Awareness Course.

Duration

1/2 day
